Custom Homes

Building your home is the one of the biggest financial investment you will ever make. You want to make sure you choose the right builder. You want a builder who will build you a quality home, has honesty and integrity, offers flexibility, and is willing to work with you. Acacia Custom Homes is that Builder. We offer both cost plus or contract construction management.

Our home building process includes the following stages:

Preliminary Design Stage:
A meeting is arranged with you to discuss your ideas, concepts, specifications, and review any pictures or drawings you may have. For acreage homes this includes a site visit to review possible home locations to maximize views and lot conditions. From this information a preliminary set of plans, including floor plans and front elevation, specifications and budget will be completed and presented to you.

Final Design Stage:
The plans, specifications, and budget are finalized, signed off, and made ready for release to the trades. This involves completing and submitting to the developer for Architectural Approval (if required) and completing the plot plan. The building permit is applied for.

Construction Stage:
Schedule and review all the work performed by the trades including reviewing all invoices submitted by the trades to ensure the work is complete and that it meets quality standards prior to payment. As well as required municipal inspections, various check point inspections and forms are completed to ensure all work is completed prior to the next trades commencing work.

As well, regular scheduled site inspection and any additional meetings as required are conducted with yourself and Acacia Custom Homes. Their purpose is to discuss any questions or concerns you may have, review the construction of your home and any changes you may have made, and to update and/or confirm your possession date. Prior to occupancy, a pre-possession orientation is completed to review any possible deficiencies and to review the operational and maintenance requirements for your new home.

Warranty Stage:
We offer a one year "bumper to bumper" warranty as well as a five year structural warranty (offered through the Alberta New Home Warranty Program). One month, six month and twelve month warranty inspections are completed during the first year.
